Black Estate Riesling 2009
Waipara
We've fallen hard for this delectable medium style riesling and it's shot straight to the top of the staff favourites list.
"Lovely luscious wine in a medium style with honey, citrus/lime, stone fruit and mineral flavours. Intense and long. The wine achieves terrific tension between acidity and sweetness. Great to drink." 93/100 Bob Campbell
" A stunning second riesling release from a Waipara winery to watch. It juxtaposes pretty notes of lemon blossom and white peach with an undercurrent of mineral salts and a soft sweetness that's beautifully balanced by its grapefruit acidity." Jo Burzynska, NZ Herald.

Mount George White Wire Chardonnay 2007
Hawkes Bay
Made by Mount George, a subsidiary of the high-flying Paritua winery, this chardonnay blend delivers plenty of bang for your buck. The East Coast Chardonnay characters shine through with some mellow complexity after a couple of years in the bottle. These flavours are complimented by tiny amounts of riesling, gewurz and sauvignon blanc to lift the aromatics and add some very attractive zing to the finish. It all works really well. Remember that the 2008 White Wire was only wine to be awarded CUISINE BEST BUY status in their EMERGING WHITES tasting 2009. Sealed by a Zork and looking the part - this easy drinking Chardonnay is obvious value.
